Jeff Floyd takes third in the Late Model main event during the 7th Annual Nathan Rettig Memorial Cotton Boll Cup on October 9, 2010 at the Malden Speedway!
Jeff Floyd charges to second place from his seventh starting position during the second late model heat of the 7th Annual Nathan Rettig Memorial Cotton Boll Cup on October 8, 2010 at the Malden Speedway!
As an added bonus, we strapped an additional camera to the car which made for a cool video!
After transferring through the second heat on Friday night, Jeff was set for a fifth place start for the main event on Saturday. Twenty other Crates were primed to duke it out in the thirty-lap affair.
Jeff battled with the #94 of Austin Rettig for several laps as they made their way to the front and through lapped traffic. Austin would eventually snag the spot and make a charge for the leader. Jeff followed closely in third. As Austin and Jesse Stovall raced for the point amidst several lapped cars with less than five laps to go, Jeff saw an opportunity to chase them down and possibly take the lead. The checkers would fall with Stovall, Rettig, and Floyd finishing nose-to-tail.
In-car footage was captured during the heat and feature, so be on the lookout for the latest dual-angle video!
Jeff returned to the Malden Speedway tonight for night one of the Nathan Rettig Memorial. Twenty-two late models signed up for the $2000 to win event. After starting four rows deep in his heat, Jeff charged to third and would finally take the runner-up position with a few laps to spare.
The F1 will be back tomorrow at Malden and is scheduled to start fifth in the feature.
